To help men become better men because better men will become better Husbands, Fathers, Mentors & Friends.
I have been happily married for nearly 15 years, and am blessed with 4 amazing children. I have been a pastor for nearly 20 years. The first 15 years were spent in music, for the last 5 years I have been a Senior Pastor at SixEight Church in Vancouver, WA.
From the very beginning of my time as a Senior pastor, I have focused on building up the men of our church. The men we had were great, but we didn’t have a lot of them. I knew we needed to focus on building relationships among men (which isn’t always easy) which would be the pathway to helping me become better men.
We have done various activities at the church, such as a Man Cave (We have an actual man cave in our facility). We have also been blessed to have other strong men join us who have helped us do more to build up men like the Men’s breakfast, our partnership with Fathers in the Field, retreats, hunting, and more.
I would love to help men become better men. While we have a lot going for us in the world right now as men, we also have a lot going against us. There are two major problems we face: 1.) There are too many men who have abdicated their responsibility & 2.) There is great pressure on men to be less manly.
What I am setting out to do is help men take up the mantle they were designed to carry and help define who men were designed to be.
This will not be a political blog/podcast. We won’t belittle women, in fact a real man doesn’t do that. We will seek to build the foundation and roots of what it means to be a man.
I deeply desire to see men standing up as men. And as we learn to stand up together, we’ll learn to be better husbands, fathers, mentors and friends.
